THE LITTLE SWIM SCHOOL

The Little Swim School

The Little Swim School in metropolitan Melbourne is a family-owned and operated business that’s passionate about water safety for everyone.

Owner Jess Adkins-Barber has worked for more than 20 years in the aquatic industry managing large swim schools in local government operated facilities, peak body experience at Life Saving Victoria and AUSTSWIM, and trained pool lifeguards and swim teachers. She often presents at national swimming and water safety conferences.

Because of her focus on health and safety, Jess was concerned that the concrete change room floor was becoming increasing difficult and time consuming to keep clean; and the risk of someone slipping and falling onto the hard, abrasive concrete was ever-present.

Access to the raised pool is via a large open area with four individual change rooms situated to one side, plus two additional male and female rooms at one end. The entire floor area was covered with an industrial grade epoxy resin over the concrete sub-base.

Three key factors drove Jess to select Life Floor

Warmth

The concrete becomes cold and unpleasant to walk on barefoot in the colder Melbourne months. Life Floor is a high-density foam rubber which insulates out the cold.

Safety

Slip fall accidents are much less likely to end with an injury with Life Floor.

Easy Care

Life Floor is easy to keep clean via three easy steps: apply a cleaning fluid, agitate, then rinse and recover via a wet vacuum.

The two colours Jess chose – Boulevard (grey) and Submariner (dark blue) - complement the surrounding visuals with the triangles providing a subtle colour transition.
