Tuncurry Splash Park

Project Type: Splash Pad and Multi-Level Play Structure

Location: Vincent Fazio Park, Tuncurry. New South Wales. Australia

MidCoast Council’s newest inclusive water playground at Vincent Fazio Park, Tuncurry is proving to be a huge hit receiving rave reviews from both local children and parents for its inclusive features, making it accessible to fun loving locals and visitors of all abilities.

The playground includes an all-age, all-ability water splash pad with a water slide, water tower, and active water play equipment designed with no standing water to eliminate the need for lifeguards. The new amenities also provide toilets and change facilities. Access to the water playground is free of charge and will remain open all year round.

Life Floor was chosen to surface the splash pad due to our product’s increased traction and cushioning. The three-colour triangle design adds an elegant aesthetic to the space and stays cool in the sun. An additional 17 mm layering tile was installed underneath our 10 mm tile to boost impact attenuation properties and better protect against potential falls.

The water park has certainly achieved its design vision of providing a facility that will improve the social wellbeing of locals and visitors to the region. It is a fun and free public space that will bring communities together. Providing inclusive recreational spaces for whole-of-community use is so important.
