Keilor East Leisure Centre first opened in October 2021. After a few months of use, it became apparent the original pour-in-place rubber surface did not meet expectations; proving difficult to clean and maintain with patches disintegrating from the substrate.
Mauer Construction Tiling removed the failing pour-in-place surface, adjusted drain heights and floor levels, and installed Life Floor safety surfacing with a beautiful design created by our in-house Design Studio. Bright pops of Turquoise throughout the design complement the fully integrated Landing Pads at the bottom of the slide exits.
While our standard Landing Pads have a beveled edge, the variation shown here is a custom version that allows a more level surface and increased safety. This custom variation is created by layering tile around the slides to accommodate higher impact cushioning.
